Now that you have yourself a whole batch of fresh, homemade chips, it’s time for some guacamole!

INGREDIENTS

1/2 ONION, chopped

1 TOMATO, chopped

1 JALAPEÑO (optional), seeds removed, chopped

1 small bunch CILANTRO, chopped

1 ripe AVOCADO

2 tbsp FRESH LIME JUICE

SALT, to taste

PEPPER, to taste

a couple of drops of HOT SAUCE, such as Tapatio or Yucateco (optional)

1 BLACK OLIVE, pitted

 

DIRECTIONS

Combine onion, tomato, jalapeño an cilantro in a bowl. Add the avocado and mash with a fork until is all smushed. Squeeze some fresh lime juice. Season with salt, pepper and hot sauce to taste. Garnish with a black olive and a couple of sprigs of cilantro. Ta da!

TIP: If you don’t finish the entire serving right away, the guacamole can keep in the refrigerator for a few days. Just wedge the avocado pit in the bowl, squeeze a little more lime juice on top and cover with plastic wrap to keep the leftovers from turning brown.
